About Roncesvalles
Why I Love Roncesvalles

Its Culture and Rich History
Originally settled in 1850, Roncesvalles Village and its landmark churches, St. Vincent de Paul and St. Casimir’s Church marks the heart of its European settlers before and after World War II. Roncesvalles is lined with turn-of-the-century homes with well-maintained gardens and mature trees canopying the streets. Other historical landmarks line Roncesvalles Avenue such as The Revue Cinema, Toronto’s longest-running independent cinema, built in 1911, and The High Park Library constructed in 1916.

Restaurants, Shopping, and Recreation
As a Roncesvalles resident, you will have diverse options on how you spend your days. Roncesvalles real estate is known for its small-town feel, just steps from locally owned shops, Polish butchers, delicatessens, and some of the best fruit/flower stands in the city. Roncesvalles real estate borders High Park, a 400-acre public greenspace boasting picnic areas, a public pool, and even a zoo! Paved routes for cyclists and joggers as well as enclosed areas for dog-walking show just how family-friendly this area really is.

Family-Oriented Community
Roncesvalles has been a family-oriented neighbourhood from the start. Residents can spend their weekends getting to know the owners of family-owned cafés, restaurants, and grocers before exploring High Park’s many amenities or biking along Lake Ontario. Formerly known as Little Poland, the neighbourhood is home to the Annual Polish Festival and Roncy Rocks, two events that encompass the spirit of the community.
